Job Summary:
Join the Dining & Culinary Services team in University Housing as an Administrative Assistant! We are looking for an experienced, customer-focused individual to support our Dining & Culinary Services administrative operations.
The person hired into this role will use their strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills to provide administrative support across Dining & Culinary Services. They will often act as the first point of contact for students, staff, and parents with questions about dining operations and initiatives, will assist with recruitment and onboarding for new dining staff, and will directly support the Director of Dining & Culinary Services. Responsibilities:
Provides general administrative support, while exercising discretion, to the administrator of a department or division of the institution or to the administrator of multiple institution programs, services, and activities.
Tasks:
Supervises and guides student workers
Coordinates and supports various Dining program initiatives
Demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service
Develops and maintains administrative program support to the Dining department
Maintains supplies and equipment for administrative offices
Performs duties in a high-volume, dynamic, student residential dining environment
Provides support and assists as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency
Acts as administrative support for the Director of Dining
Assists in recruitment activities for the department, such as setting up interviews and completing reference checks

Qualifications:
Required:
Two (2) years of office experience providing customer service
Experience and proficiency with common office productivity and communication resources (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred:
Experience working in a dining, customer service, or other hospitality setting
Experience providing office support in a school or university setting
Experience with collaborative online platforms (Google Workspace, Box, Teams, etc.)
Experience using point of sale (POS) systems
Experience auditing complex records, editing documents, and reviewing work done by others
Work Schedule:
Primary schedule for this position is daytime business hours, 7:45am-4:15pm with some evenings and weekends as needed. Schedule alterations as operation and position expectations demand.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

This is a full-time appointment. The starting hourly wage is $25.37 or higher based on qualifications and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package.
