Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant II works within the Office of the Chair in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health under the supervision of the Administrative Manager and with a team of other administrative members. This role will provide administrative support for all department awards including but not limited to collection of award materials, drafting support letters, and submission of award materials.
This role will support the department's philanthropic efforts and provide administrative support on organizing department events. This role will also serve as a back-up to other colleagues within the Office of the Chair as needed and work on projects that may be department wide in scope to advance the operations and mission of the department.

Required:
Experience in an administrative setting providing administrative support and coordination.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
Preferred:
Preference will be given to experience providing administrative support to an organization's philanthropic efforts and/or recognition programs/awards.
Ability to manage sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Work Schedule:
This position is expected to work from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday; some evening hours may be required.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
This position is hybrid and will need to work from the office two days a week (Friday required).

The starting hourly wage for the position is $20.00 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

The University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) is a large, tier-one clinical department in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health that offers outstanding educational and research programs. UW DFMCH has 204 faculty, 211 adjunct faculty, and 170 staff located throughout the state transforming health care for all.
There are over 160 residents in our sponsored and academic partner programs, with the Madison residency program ranking ninth in the nation for 2023.
