Position: Administrative Assistant II - Payroll Clerk
Location: Auditor's Office

Salary: $47,731 - $61,221
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant II is responsible for generating and processing payrolls; auditing payrolls; edits and balances payroll rep is; provides warrants to Treasurer for both City and
School payrolls; processes employment verifications for banks and lending institutions; processes weekly retirement reports for the Retirement office.
Generates biweekly and weekly City payrolls; audits payrolls from all departments; creates warrants for City and School payrolls.
Processes retirement repo1is and employment verification requests.
Processes personnel actions required by Auditor's office.
Adjusts monthly Accrual reports from all departments.
Maintains Quarter Ends spreadsheets and associated balances with Treasurers Office.
Other duties as required by the City Auditor
Supervision:
Under the general direction of the City Auditor.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Associates Degree in an administrative field or a journeyman's level of trade knowledge; a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of office work experience including payroll in a municipal setting; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge: Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; knowledge of municipal payroll systems and procedures. Working knowledge of office software, the Internet, and web site technology in support of department operations.
Ability: Ability to interact effectively and appropriately with the public and other personnel, perform multiple tasks and maintain confidential information; ability to acquire knowledge of laws and regulations pertinent to position functions; ability to learn municipal accounting
programs.
Skills: Proficient computer skills, mathematical skills, recordkeeping and clerical skills, written and oral communication skills; strong customer service skills.

Work Environment:
The work environment involves everyday discomforts of a municipal office subject to frequent interruptions. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not unpleasant.
