Join our Westwood Ophthalmology Call Center team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience! We are looking for a positive, detail-oriented individual dedicated to providing excellent patient service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Pre-registering new and returning patients via telephone
Collecting demographic and insurance information
Entering authorizations and referrals
Scheduling appointments
Maintaining logs and tracking all activities
Communicating with faculty and office staff via email, paging system, and verbal messages
Salary Range: $24.57-34.87
Job Qualifications

Required:
Minimum six months of experience working in an ophthalmology practice.
Working knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology.
Minimum six months of experience working in healthcare.
Familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans such as Medicare and Medicaid.
Six months of experience scheduling patient appointments in electronic system.
Computer skills sufficient to communicate by email.
Verbal and written skills in English sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, doctors and staff.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with individuals of varied backgrounds effectively, with professionalism, patience and understanding.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency.
Ability to demonstrate professionalism while dealing with the stressors of operating a multi-line telephone system.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Preferred:
One year of experience working in clinical teaching environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
