Experience:

  • Required: 1 year general office

Personal Required:

  • Knowledge of how to use computer, telephone system; copier, laminating machine, fax and general office machines; perform simple accounting principles; and organize work.

  • Able to communicate with general public, administrators, Food Service office personnel, all cafeteria managers, company food representatives and have a pleasant telephone voice and personality.

  • Relates positively to others.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals.

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed.

FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Finance/Compliance, responsible for maintaining student direct certification statuses, incoming telephone calls, general typing, and other routine office procedures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate personnel.

  • Regularly receive visitors and direct them to appropriate personnel.

  • Prepare U.S. and school mail for mail carrier daily.

  • Prepare inter-office mail daily.

  • Responsible for daily distribution of forms and records received from schools on clipboards and return with mail, memos and correspondence.

  • Enter stockroom and purchase requisitions into the District financial system.

  • Fill office supply orders for schools.

  • Prepare order listing for office supply requests.

  • Follow Texas Department of Agriculture procurement guidelines when necessary.

  • Order office forms from outside companies yearly.

  • Group breakfast and lunch satellite delivery slips in route schedule order daily.

  • Prepare copies and distribute Elementary and Secondary production sheets, meat tabulations, and canteen worksheets.

  • Type notices, menus and recipes as needed.

  • Responsible for laminating, cutting, distributing, and maintaining files of signs, posters, flyers, menu boards, and other documents for school use.

  • Assist with copier, printer, and laminator troubleshooting and submits work order requests when needed.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all students eligible for direct certification (DC) are identified by:

  • Comparing the Texas Department of Agriculture downloaded 11no match" list to eSchoolPlus to add students

  • Printing and comparing household members by address and guardians, to those students not on DC.

  • Adding homeless, foster, and migrant students to the system from lists given from the persons responsible for signing students up on those lists.

  • Assist with subs in the morning when needed.

  • Assist current employees with portal access to SafeSchools training.

  • Lift or carry 1 to 10 lbs. occasionally.

  • Bend, stoop and work with machinery occasionally.

  • Walk and stand occasionally. Sit frequently.
