Dakota State University is seeking applications for an Administrative Assistant I in the College of Arts and Sciences. The position will manage the day-to-day operations of the college office and support the Dean and faculty within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of academic schedules for the math and sciences courses offered in the College of Arts and Sciences.

  • Assist the Dean with Faculty Workload documents.

  • Assign advisors to each student within the math and science programs of the College of Arts and Sciences.

  • Assist students with course registration issues and provide general advising guidance.

  • Coordinate and process reimbursement paperwork for faculty and clubs.

  • Generate and send correspondence to students, faculty, and staff across campus.

  • Work with the Admissions department to coordinate faculty to meet with prospective students.

  • Schedule meetings for the Dean and faculty.

  • Manage room reservations for the Habeger Science Center.

  • Purchase materials, supplies, equipment, and process travel reimbursements for faculty and Dean.

  • Reconcile monthly Science budget.

  • Supervise student employees.

  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple interruptions.

  • Ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and the public courteously.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
