The purpose of the Law and Public Safety Administrative Assistant is to provide direct administrative support to the Chairperson as well as full-time and part-time faculty in the Law & Public Safety Department, and to provide service to both internal and external customers in a manner that enables the department to operate efficiently and professionally, while maintaining a pleasant, wholesome environment.
The salary for this position begins at $33,827.00 and is determined commensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities
- Establish and maintain paper-based and electronic files
- Process and duplicate materials; prepare and send faxes
- Perform reception duties and schedule appointments, when appropriate
- Coordinate, order, process, and receive office supplies for Department
- Create and proof correspondence, documents, and reports
- Process a variety of requisitions
- Prepare and maintain necessary agendas, materials, and minutes for meetings, as well as logistical arrangements for meetings
- Answer customers' questions when possible and direct questions to the appropriate source when the answer is not readily available
- Provide accurate information to internal and external customers by maintaining a current knowledge of college-wide policies/procedures and working closely with other departments
- Respond respectfully and appropriately when assisting external and internal customers
- Gather faculty syllabi and review for compliance with Sinclair's policies
- Assist Chair in gathering information and putting together reports
- Assist Chair in scheduling classes and personnel
- Train, supervise, and monitor student workers to ensure that appropriate office coverage and clerical support is provided to meet the needs of faculty, students, and other departments
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years' office related work experience required
- Current and proficient computer skills to include current working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) with ability to learn various other software/databases utilized by the college required
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while providing great attention to detail required
- Professional communication skills to include but not limited to oral and written required
- High level customer service skills to serve the college and community required
- Knowledge of program curriculum and admission requirements preferred
