General Job Description
The primary function of the Administrative Assistant is to assist in the maintenance of attorney files and provide information to the public.
Duties for this Position
Assisting clients in a professional manner
Answering phones in a professional manner and entering client phone calls and walk in questions into the Defender Data database
Filing any and all paperwork for attorney files
Determining if any paperwork must also be sent to the client
Opening and closing attorney files
Responding to client mail
Filing any and all paperwork with the office of the Clerk of Court
Assisting any and all other support staff when needed
Visiting clients at the detention center if requested
Assist at the courthouse when necessary
Processing Clerk of Court Transmittals to locate client Applications and warrants
All other duties assigned in conjunction with the position
Position Minimum Requirements
Use personal computer/software programs and general office equipment
Effectively utilize Defender Data, Microsoft Word and Outlook
Handles matters with integrity and confidentiality
Ability to be patient with staff and all clients
High School Diploma
Must be able to pass the required pre-employment physical and background check
