Summary of Responsibility:
Administers the payroll processes. Assists and supports the Human Resources and Accounting Department with day-to-day job functions, including administrative functions, maintaining records and data entry.
Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations and human resource functions by keeping information confidential.
Assists in application of benefit programs, including processing enrollments, forms, changes, terminations and annual benefits renewal.
Audit/reconcile insurance bills monthly.
Assist with AP process, bank reconciliations and fixed asset depreciation schedule process.
Processes new hire paperwork, set new hires up in payroll and administers time clock operations.
Administers performance evaluation program, both 90 day and annual, as well as performance evaluation matrix.
Assist with recruiting efforts including posting and updating job postings.
Perform reference checks, criminal and credit background checks on new hires.
Perform all job related duties as assigned by supervisor, including special projects and assisting with company events.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Education, Experience, Licensure/Certification, Age Requirement:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous payroll experience preferred.
