Experience of 2 years or more in a medical office environment. The position requires an emphasis on customer service. The position requires strong administrative skills, including telephone presentation, clerical and high organizational aptitude. Must be able to communicate effectively with, and express the hospice concept to team members, patients, families, community members and physician offices.
The Administrative Assistant works in conjunction with the site Executive Director and the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure efficient processes and communications are in operating effectively within the organization.
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for:
Ensuring the phone is answered courteously and messages are directed as indicated.
Initiation, organization, and maintenance of patient medical records including obtaining information needed to complete patient medical record and following up as needed.
Daily census reporting
Monthly reconciliation of Billing Audit Tools
EMR scheduling and report compilation as needed.
Processing and/or directing referrals to the appropriate person(s).
Routing patient orders with staff and physicians accordingly.
Maintaining personnel files keeping them current, obtaining necessary documentation and filing in a timely manner.
Assisting with employee orientation and onboarding.
Maintaining Joint Commission survey readiness.
Setting up and assisting with new equipment and IT ticketing as needed.
Monitoring of office inventory and ordering supplies as needed ensuring cost effective practices are observed.
Requires sitting for prolonged periods of time, and extensive inputting information into the computer. Occasionally requires standing and reaching with hands and arms. May be required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
