This position serves as the primary customer service agent by greeting and assisting clients and the general public. It also includes a variety of specialized clerical duties and responsibilities within the department.
Position Information:
Starting Salary: $17.98 an hour / $35,061.00 annually

Work Hours: This position will work and be paid for 75 hours in a 2 week pay period

Responsibilities
Customer Service:
Greet and assist clients and general public by taking or providing information and directing them to the proper locations.
Answer telephone calls and respond to general questions; direct calls to the proper probation officer or take messages.
Perform juvenile record checks for police departments or other agencies as well as verifying dispositions on current or previous cases on the telephone.
Basic Clerical Duties:
Transcribe dictation; type reports, Court Orders, Social Histories, Juvenile Petition and correspondence for Juvenile Probation Officers and other staff members as required.
File Court related documents.
Process required department documents, forms and/or reports as required.
Prepare the On-Call Schedule yearly and monthly; type schedule and submit to the proper departments. Update schedule and the On-Call book on a weekly basis and distribute.
Serve as troubleshooter for computer problems.
Acquire/Update PO's Training Hours:
Request hours, organize and itemize all yearly training hours for all probation officers and supervisors.
Enter all training events into the JEMS database and include Probation officers hours attended for each training event.
Enter all expenses related to training events into the JEMS database and print reports to help assist in the training budget.
Interstate Compact:
Enter all juvenile records for out of state transfers and travel permits into the Unity Database.
Obtain proper interstate compact forms for the processing of specified requests and submit through the Unity Database.
Communicate between probation officers and interstate compact for any required documentation or records.
Maintain Grant and JPO Databases
Pull juveniles files and enter all required data into the Access database.
Pull information as requested and sort data into reports to obtain statistic numbers and other pertinent information needed for analysis and reporting.
Other Duties of the Job
Attends meetings or training sessions as required. Workshops and training sessions include locations such as State College and/or other locations.
Performs any additional duties as assigned by the Chief Juvenile Probation Officer or Administrative Coordinator.
