Position Summary:

The Office of the Diaconate is seeking an experienced secretary/administrative assistant to handle day-to-day office responsibilities. This part-time position reports to the Vicar for Deacons.

Responsibilites:

  • Prepare correspondence for the Vicar and Associate Directors.

  • Maintain records and filing systems.

  • Update office data base using Access and Excel

  • Secretarial duties such as answering phones, dealing with the public, creating mailing labels

  • Prepare letters and packets as part of mass mailings sent by the office.

Requirements:

  • Prior office or secretarial employment.

  • Experience utilizing computers and management of records and filing systems.

  • Must have Microsoft Office skills, especially Word, and the ability to learn Excel and Access

  • Need to possess an understanding of Catholic Church, faith and ministry.

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.

May provide back up support to higher-level management as needed. Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. Minimum Experience / Training Required: o 5+ years previous admin experience or equivalent. o Operates with general instruction and some supervision. o Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Visio or OrgPlus, and Outlook.
