In this role, you will:

  • Support moderately complex administrative tasks

  • Assist in routine payroll processing, record keeping, and reports preparation

  • Work closely with both internal and external customers to meet required service needs

  • Perform moderately complex administrative, transactional, operational, and customer support tasks

  • Receive direction from supervisors regarding routine administrative process

  • Provide support in areas of reporting and handling general ledger or expense accounts of a particular business line

  • Provide support to the business line staff in the areas of reporting, customer/business documentation, sales and service goals

  • Interact with other Administrative Assistants, internal partners, external customers, and experienced level leaders across the organization

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 2+ years of Administrative Support experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of brokerage or administrative support

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Ability to answer and manage multiple phone lines

  • Experience supporting senior level leaders/executives

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

NREL has an opening for one full-time Group Manager for the technical team (approximately 20 team members and growing) at CCHRC. Members of this group focus on developing energy efficient, resilient building technologies and energy systems for extreme climates. Through its core programs of building science research, social & economic analysis, and architecture and design, CCHRC develops building and energy systems that have improved the buildings and energy systems across cold climates and serves as the Alaska hub to incorporate a broader range of clean energy solutions. CCHRC engages directly with Indigenous communities and cultures in the research and design process to advance energy justice for all. The Group Manager will work with staff to develop and innovate new energy efficient and renewable energy technologies and techniques to help enable a clean energy transition in extreme climates. This person will work with staff to lead and position the group to grow in funding, expertise, and impact, both leveraging the long-standing capabilities of CCHRC while allowing for the breadth of NREL capabilities to be able to be applied in Alaska. The Group Manager role is expected to account for 30% of the individual's time. The other 70% of time is for leading technical and analytic research in support of the goals of the Group, the Center, and the Laboratory. The position reports to the Cold Climate Housing Research Center Director. The manager will: * Oversee, prioritize, and guide technical work, resources, and projects in the Group. * Provide input to the Center and laboratory for development of strategic plans to strategically position the Group to grow in terms of funding, expertise, and impact. * Be responsible for typical managerial duties such as annual performance reviews, recruiting and hiring new employees, ensuring staff training requirements are met, * Lead or support a portfolio of high-impact engineering, analysis, RDD&D, and stakeholder engagement projects. * Mentor staff in NREL's processes, procedures, and culture. Help staff to access resources throughout the lab * Perform feasibility analyses of proposed mitigation technologies to assess innovative designs concepts and perform value engineering including risk assessment. * Develop and give presentations on project progress to sponsors and reviewers, write project plans, and regular project reports.
