The Administrative Assistant is based in Washington, D.C. and reports to the Vice President of Global Government Affairs, who is also based in Washington, D.C. This position serves as a key resource for the Government Affairs Team and Corporate Compliance Investigations team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide reception and related operational support for the Washington, D.C. offices.

  • Provide support to internal and external visitors, including assistance with all meeting/event logistics and related needs.

  • Provide administrative support including assistance with travel, expenses, scheduling, meeting planning and logistics, invoices and other budget-related activities, compliance with lobbying and ethics laws, and operational management of the Washington, D.C. offices.

  • Support administration of Zimmer Biomet Political Action Committee (Z-PAC).

  • Support Federal filing requirements for the U.S. Government Affairs Team, including lobbying reporting.

  • Help manage the Government Affairs internal website

  • Preparing correspondence and presentation materials.

  • Organizing and coordinating in-house and off-site meetings, teleconferences and videoconferences.

  • Prioritizing and handling of all incoming email, mail, faxes and telephone calls, scheduling of appointments and maintaining Outlook calendar.

Expected Areas of Competence

  • Experience providing executive-level support

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects

  • Experience planning and supporting large group meetings

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people at different levels

  • Strong professional etiquette, including excellent communications skills

  • Ability to handle varied situations professionally

  • Experience working in a fast-paced organization

  • Self-motived, team player and strong work ethic

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • At least 5 years of administrative or project coordinator experience required.

  • Experience supporting public policy, legislative affairs, lobbying or applicable area functions preferred.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 5%
