The Milledgeville Campus of Georgia Military College announces a full-time opening for an Administrative Assistant. Working under the direct supervision of the Milledgeville Executive Director, this position is responsible for clerical, administrative, and budgetary support to the functions of the Milledgeville campus. The position will also provide administrative support to the Academic Dean as directed upon request and serve as the Milledgeville campus Graduation Coordinator. The Administrative Assistant must be an excellent representative of the College and therefore interact favorable with the general public. The Administrative Assistant must promote and contribute to an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. This position involves dealing with tight deadlines and sensitive issues.
Assist with the planning and management of the GMC Milledgeville campus budget as well as the Madison campus budget.
Create, manage, and fulfill purchase orders, track current vendors used for purchasing and identifying new vendors when needed.
Order and maintain office supplies and equipment for the GMC Milledgeville and Madison locations.
Maintain an inventory of all office supplies for the GMC Milledgeville Administrative office.
Compose and type correspondence and memorandums for the Executive Director.
Prepare presentations for the Executive Director.
Maintain an appointment calendar and schedule meetings for the Executive Director.
Make traveling arrangements for the Executive Director and staff as requested.
Assist in the training of new administrative assistants for the GMC Milledgeville Administrative office.
Assist in the coordination and preparation of various events. Coordination includes submitting engineering requests, working with GMC Food Services and outside vendors, arranging audio/video requirements with IT, making hotel arrangements, serving as a point of contact with special visitors and guest speakers, etc.
Submit work order requests to Engineering and IT departments as directed.
Maintain sensitive, annual and hazardous material inventories for the GMC Milledgeville campus.
Remain current on policy and procedures, curriculum, and catalog changes that impact the operations of the GMC Milledgeville Administrative office.
Provide customer service and administrative support in screening student, faculty, and visitor requests whether it is face to face contact or by phone. Examples include, answering questions, finding solutions, directing to appropriate personnel or office as needed.
Manage copier and scanners in the Administrative office. Management includes assigning copy codes to faculty and staff, ordering supplies, maintaining reports for budgetary purposes, troubleshooting maintenance, and contacting service maintenance representative as needed.
Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

5 years of budgetary/purchasing/accounting experience.
