DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Administrative Assistant 1 within the Office of the Board of Pardons, you will review clemency applications, clearly communicate with the applicant or representative to obtain additional information as required for all eligible cases and amend applications as necessary. A comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the clemency process is vital in order to best assist applicants and explain the procedure and all possible outcomes.
You will be responsible for filing clemency applications for investigation by the Department of Corrections and the Board of Pardons, as well as preparing cases for merit review by the Board. Upon Governor's Action, you will enter the Governor's decision and generate notifications and complete the appropriate memos to all interested parties for cases granted or denied by the Governor. Excellent organization, attention to detail, and interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
