Under limited supervision from the warden, Chief of inmate grievance branch, central office inmate grievance administrator:
Performs a wide variety of administrative duties for the inmate grievance branch. I
Investigates grievances by conducting thorough and impartial inquiries of circumstances pertaining to grievances through interviews with inmates and staff.
Analyzes specific information obtained and prepares recommendations designed to resolve problems at the lowest possible level.
Reviews and research SCDC policies, relevant/mandated statues, disciplinary tapes, and any documentation related to grievances.
Interprets rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they apply to day- to-day operations and to the grievance procedures, accepts and forwards appeals to the central office, serves inmates with step 1 and step 2 grievance decisions, and performs other duties as assigned.
Must successfully complete three (3) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
Six (6) years responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative experience preferably in a correctional or law enforcement setting.
A Bachelor degree may be substituted the related work experience.
Required to have experience in CRT and/or personal computer, leadership, law enforcement/paralegal/research and investigations.
