Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting, finance, or a related field; two years of experience in providing professional-level administrative, analytical and/or operational support in the assigned area accounting or accounts payable; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Ability to process transaction using an automated system and related software. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Duties

General Statement of Duties:

The major function of this position is to analyze and process invoices in a timely manner, accurately and in compliance with Chesterfield County Accounting and Procurement policies and procedures for the Parks Division. Prepare and process invoices for payment; compile, analyze, audit financial accounts, records, and reports. Prepares monthly reconciliation of P-card purchases for submission to the Accounting Department.

Duties:

  • Review and process quotes, invoices and purchase orders submitted for payment; rectify invoice discrepancies for the Parks Division.

  • Monitor purchasing card transactions for the Parks Division and complete a monthly reconciliation.

  • Assist in preparing budgets by compiling data, researching past expenditures, projecting expenditures for the coming year and making budget recommendations.

  • Prepare periodic special reports and analysis of the operating budget for the Parks Division.

  • Conducts research projects, including gathering, compiling, and analyzing information, and may make recommendations on courses of action.

  • Communicate with and responds to a variety of inquiries from District Park Managers related to the budget.

  • Complete and process travel advances and local mileage reimbursement for the Park Division.

  • Process cross departmental transfers and change fund verification.

  • Input data into the County's Financial System.

  • Perform other work as required.
