OBJECTIVES:

The Accounting Specialist coordinates the fiscal operation and related activities of assigned accounting functions and responsibilities within assigned District.

NATURE OF POSITION:

This individual is efficient and comfortable being a member of a team. The ability to multi-task, while providing leadership support, is essential in this position. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver, a continuous learner and organized. Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely, accurate manner is key to success in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Effectively partner with Branch manager to obtain and manage timely paperwork and information to maintain accurate service and job system information oversight
• Assist Branch Manager with contract administration and information organization.+ Maintain organized databases to effectively communicate accurate information to Team
• Manage status of jobs to ensure timely invoicing and accurate job costing.+ Provide service invoices to customers and follow-up on collections as required
• Become in-house Service Trade systems expert through successfully navigating and understanding system functions and capabilities; including the ability to retrieve, process and communicate essential information to the team. As the in-house SME, individual is responsible for assisting the Team with system learning designed to increase system proficiencies.+ Cross-train on contract billing to serve as support and back-up as required and obtain working knowledge of Great Plains (GP) as needed to complete accounting functions
• Oversee Accounts Payable for the location and provide Payroll support and back-up as needed
• As assigned by Branch Manager, work on Special Projects such as creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and assisting with annual audit and compliance initiatives annually
• Process credit cards
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 3 years related experience, including Accounting experience
• Experience with Great Plains accounting system is a plus!
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
• Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
• Ability to translate data into useful information and actionable priorities
• Exceptional communication skills
• Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
