Position Summary

The UNC Genetics Department Haendel laboratory is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist with an interest in science, genetics, aging or genome analysis. This could be someone with a BA or BS undergraduate degree in a discipline such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Psychology.

This position will support and assist in administrative and project coordination activities. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, the discipline to complete tasks, and the ability to work with all levels of staff and faculty.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Practical experience with research projects or with accomplishing team-oriented goals.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
