Summary
The Radiology 3D Imaging Laboratory Manager is responsible for providing leadership and professional expertise or services through leveraging the knowledge and skills of others. The primary objective of the 3D Lab manager is to manage imaging post-processing operations for all CT & MRI imaging. The 3D Lab manager is also responsible for assisting leadership with imaging software purchases, monitoring and designing workflows, and analyzing statistical data to continue to increase throughput of 3D imaging while contributing to the overall strategy, direction, and vision. Incumbent is responsible (directly or indirectly) for all subordinate staff activities related to human resource management (hiring, promotion, salary changes, performance coaching, disciplinary actions, training and development, ensuring consistent application of organizational policies, etc.). Incumbent has measurable impact on operational effectiveness, attainment of department/unit objectives, service to customers and attainment of research goals.

Responsibilities*
Plan, direct, organize and supervise the operational activities of the 3D Imaging Laboratory in the Department of Radiology
Manage the 24/7 day-to-day operation of the 3D Imaging Laboratory servicing all sites of service including UH, CW and all ACU?s, from RWL?s and 3 physical Lab locations at UH, BCSC, and CW.
Provide leadership and/or direction to all Advanced Imaging Processing Specialists and Radiologists in the best interest of patient care and patient flow
Directly responsible for all subordinate staff activities related to human resource management: hiring, promotion, salary changes, performance coaching, payroll, staff schedule, writing and presenting evaluations, participates in resolution of employee complaints and grievances, develops performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions, training and development, ensuring consistent application of organizational policies
Monitor attendance records, including overtime
Develop and implement objectives, policies, and procedures for the 3D Imaging Laboratory
Coordinate staff schedules including vacations
Approves, manages, and minimizes overtime
Review 3D unsigned reports and associate exams as needed
Perform analysis and interpret special studies on operations, costs, and staff requirements.
Participate in the preparation of budget plans and man-hour reports as well as special reports. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
Subject matter expert in CT/MR 3D Coding and Reimbursement
Improve overall throughput of 3D image post-processing for MRI & CT
Provide adequate training and review orientation paperwork of new employees
Maintain expert knowledge in advanced visualization technology. Evaluate and make recommendations for 3D advanced post-processing software platforms and applications.
Work closely with Rad IT regarding 3D software contracts, updates/upgrades, implementation of existing/new software
Monitor expenditures as it relates to advanced visualization software resources
Oversight in the development of 3D imaging protocols and technical workflow for CT/MRI datasets, including technical expertise in the IT function necessary to support the work, which include over a dozen different software programs
Oversight for the education of CT technologists with regards to protocols and 3D renderings.
Oversight in the development of advanced CT protocols and techniques to ensure 3D post-processing criteria is met
Oversight of the annual CT protocol review meetings, working with faculty, CT protocol team and physicist on dose management to meet the State of Michigan CT Rules and the AAPM Guidelines for CT Protocol Management
Perform support duties as directed by Director of Operations
Facilitate implementation of new system changes
Interact and collaborate with various leaders within the department
Collaborate with Radiology faculty to support 3D Printing services within the 3D Lab, approving and signing invoices, protocol development for 3D printing studies, overseeing sub-specialized AIPS 3D printing techniques
Collaborate and work directly with other departments and institution to support 3D post-processing needs for pre-/post-operative planning
Required Qualifications*
Graduation from an accredited school for Radiologic Technology.
Must possess and maintain ARRT registration.
Bachelor's degree in related field and/or a combination of education and experience in management, supervisory, or team lead.
Demonstrate exceptional communication skills.
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with administrators, physicians, peers, and subordinates as evidenced by performance evaluations and documentation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications*
Previous Radiology experience is preferred, specifically in CT or MRI.
Knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies and procedures is preferred.
Proficiency with computer systems and PACS is preferred.
Experience with continuous quality improvement and LEAN processes is preferred.
Training in high reliability is preferred.

4:00pm, with potential to float to varying hours as needed by the department.
