The Pathology Department provides diagnostic services and specialized testing for patients and collaborates with hospital clinicians to customize each patient's treatment based on their individual diagnosis.
The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center's Department of Pathology is seeking a capable, self-motivated individual with excellent computer and communication skills to support the Hematopathology/Molecular Genetic Pathology Division located at TriCore Reference Laboratories as an Administrative Assistant 2.
The Administrative Assistant 2, working in conjunction with other administrative personnel, will provide administrative support for the Division's faculty, residents, fellows, medical students, and staff. Duties include but are not limited to scheduling appointments/meetings, transcribing minutes, arranging travel, preparing itineraries, purchasing equipment/supplies, basic accounting, and quality assurance projects. Conditions of Employment
If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a hospital or academic medicine setting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Prior responsibility managing multiple calendars
Previous experience scheduling and coordinating meetings, guest speakers, and conferences, making travel arrangements and processing reimbursements.
Experience composing and proofreading correspondence
Experience using EndNote for preparing bibliographies
Experience with purchasing and ordering
Knowledge of scientific and/or medical terminology
