We are currently seeking candidates for teaching courses in the developing Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at the University of the Cumberlands. The DPT program will be delivered in a blended format including both online coursework and on-campus lab immersions in Williamsburg, KY. The responsibility of the position is dependent upon the teaching assignment and ranges from serving as course director with oversight from the program director to serving as a lab assistant. This position contributes to the fulfillment of the mission of the program and the University. Job Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in physical therapy from a CAPTE accredited program and a USDE regionally accredited institution of higher education,

  • Active state licensure for practicing physical therapy and eligibility for licensure in Kentucky

  • Contemporary expertise in physical therapy practice

  • Experience teaching concepts of physical therapy practice in a clinical and/or academic setting

  • Ability to use online instructional technologies and to travel to the university for face-to-face teaching in on-campus orientation sessions and lab immersions is required.

  • Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association

  • The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational, communication, decision-making, teamwork, interpersonal, technological, and leadership skills, and be engaged in professional development that will facilitate the maturing of Cumberlands emerging DPT program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An earned ABPTS board certification or other advanced practice certifications

  • Experience with a variety of pedagogical and technological educational delivery methods in physical therapy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality and timely instruction in assigned courses both online and in-person

  • Maintain contemporary knowledge and clinical expertise in physical therapy

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the physical therapy department and throughout the university.

  • Adapt and align course materials using departmental syllabus templates, required text(s), and other resources.

  • Provide regular and timely feedback on student work.

  • Maintain regular communication with students through virtual office hours and e-mail.

  • Maintain clear, consistent records in iLearn (Blackboard)

  • Participate in department-wide assessments.

  • Respond to student and peer evaluation

  • Participate in professional development

  • Follow university policies and procedures.
