The College of New Jersey's Department of Political Science is seeking dynamic adjunct instructors to teach an undergraduate mock trial course in fall 2024 (August 24, 2024 - December 14, 2024). The Mock Trial class prepares students for the Regional Tournament, the first round of the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) annual national tournament structure. To prepare for the Regional Tournament, students develop opening and closing statements, use affidavits, case law, and evidence to develop case theories and arguments for both sides of a case, prepare a witness for direct and cross-examination, and understand and conduct the pretrial procedure.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • PhD or Master's degree from an accredited institution, in political science, government, public administration, law, or related field or J.D. degree from an accredited law school.

  • Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

Note: These courses will be offered in person at TCNJ's campus in Ewing, NJ. Only those candidates within a reasonable distance will be considered.
