Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as an adjunct faculty member for the traditional ground campus in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology . Through hands-on, inquiry-based learning, the college provides an outlet for innovation and cross-disciplinary exposure. It also features pre-professional degrees in biology, alongside our degrees in information systems, and a forensic science and exercise science program.

As an adjunct faculty member, you'll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. Course Description: ITT-116 - Platforms and Network Technologies:

  • This course exposes students to the fundamentals of networks and networking in IT. It then builds deeper understanding of how networks work, including the topics of LANs, WANs, service providers, packets, hubs, routers, switches, and Internet protocols.

    The laboratory reinforces and expands learning of principles introduced in the lecture. Hands-on activities focus on setting up and configuring local and enterprise networks, experimenting with various topologies, and scalability planning with routers and switches. Prerequisite: CST-111 or CST-105.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. Other main responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Masters (or higher) in Information Technology or Masters (or higher) in Computer Science or Masters (or higher) in Computer Information or Masters (or higher) in a related field providing equivalent experience.

    All instructors must have 2-5 years experience designing and/or implementing Enterprise server infrastructures in a mid to large size organizations. All instructors must have skills in MS Server 2012 (or 2008) and Linux Administration and DHCP and DNS and Server Roles and Active Directory management and Server hardening and networking and demonstrate the ability to setup/manage/troubleshoot multi-layered architectures. Preference given to individuals certified in CompTIA Linux+ or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server.

Course Description: Ground Adjunct - ITT-121 - System Administration and Maintenance: * This course introduces students to system administration and maintenance as well as platform technologies. The course surveys operating systems, applications, administrative activities and domains, computer architecture and organization, and computing infrastructures. Hands-on activities focus on developing practical skills in configuring computer systems, deploying enterprise applications, managing user permissions, and remote administration. Prerequisite: ITT-116.
