Adjunct, Physical Therapy Assistant
Salary
Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, performs the following functions:
PROVIDES INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES:
Assists with development of course outcomes and curriculum which are consistent with Academic Affairs, department, and technology / program goals; convey course outcomes and expectations to students according to college policy; organize and manage instructional activities; use appropriate learner-centered instructional methods; provide evaluation methods appropriate to stated outcomes; evaluate student learning in a fair manner; posts and maintains sufficient office hours compatible with student schedules; maintain accurate records of evaluation and course work including attendance; submit grades as required and on time; regularly seeks feedback on course delivery and student learning; participate in college evaluation system of instructional services; revise / update courses regularly, contribute to the assessment of student academic achievement;Work cooperatively with others to accomplish the goals of the department and technology; At all times maintains a safe working area and conditions.
Position Requirements
Current License in the State of Ohio as a PT or PTA.
The ideal individual has contemporary expertise in assigned teaching areas and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and student evaluation.
o Provide evidence of the individual's contemporary expertise specific to assigned teaching content. This evidence can include:
§ Education (including post-professional academic work and continuing education);
Clinical expertise (specifically related to teaching areas; certification as a clinical specialist).
Consultation and service related to teaching areas;
Course Materials that reflect level and scope of contemporary knowledge and skills.
Other evidence that demonstrates contemporary expertise, for example:
Scholarship (publications and presentations related to teaching areas;
Written evidence of evaluation of course materials (e.g., course syllabus, learning experiences, assessments of student performance) by a content expert; Independent study and evidence-based review that results in critical appraisal and in-depth knowledge of subject matter; Formal mentoring (include description of experiences, time frame and qualifications of mentor).
