Widener University's Center for Extended Learning is currently seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach in the Organizational Development & Leadership BS & MA program.

Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an "as needed" basis.

Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered in online, hybrid and evening formats.

Adjunct faculty are expected to teach to the designated syllabus, provide support and guidance to students; facilitate on-line or campus based courses and respond to student needs in a timely fashion; develop strategies to teach the course for the entire semester or session, use the course syllabus, objectives, and curriculum; meet the university's academic standards; organize and prepare course materials for facilitation; utilize educational technology to engage students and enhance learning; connect students' current study to real-world applications; demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of assignments; provide timely feedback to students; maintain students' grade book and complete final grades by the deadline.

Complete applications are to include a cover letter that identifies preferred courses, C.V. and contact information for three professional references. This is a pooled position from which Adjunct will be hired. As openings occur, applicants will be hired from this pool.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching to the designated syllabus.

  • Providing support and guidance to students.

  • Facilitating campus based or on-line courses and responding to student needs in a timely fashion.

  • Developing strategies to teach the course for the entire semester or session, using the WU syllabus provided, objectives, and curriculum.

  • Meeting the university's academic standards.

  • Organizing and preparing course materials for facilitation.

  • Utilizing experiential learning, action learning, and educational technology to engage students and enhance learning.

  • Connecting students' current study to real-world applications.

  • Demonstrating consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of assignments, and providing timely feedback to students.

  • Utilize rubrics for grading where relevant.

  • Maintaining students' grade book, and completing final grades by the deadline.

  • Utilize the LMS for all course instruction, grading, student contact

  • Meeting by phone or in person with Associate Dean each semester.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Training and Development, Organization Development, Business, Organizational Behavior or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in related fields, previous teaching experience, and familiarity with online learning, hybrid formats and experiential learning methods.

  • Experience with Canvas Learning Management System

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

  • Online courses require ongoing access to computer and the internet.

  • Requires ability to communicate by computer and reading a computer screen.

Job Description Position Summary: Teva's Head of Clinical Statistics is a senior leadership position within the Global Biometrics organization and a key member of the Global Biometrics Leadership Team. The person in this position holds overall accountability for the statistical aspects (both strategic and technical) of all drug development projects globally from first in human through POC to loss of exclusivity including real world evidence statistics. This person reports directly to the Head of Global Biometrics and is a key, dynamic, global leader and people manager within the Global Biometrics organization. This role requires regular contact with persons of influence and in positions of decision making both within Teva and within partner organizations globally. This indidual will be responsible for creating a safe, positive, innovative culture in the clinical statistics organization to create space for people to do amazing things. This position is open either in West Chester, PA or in Netanya, Israel. Travel from US to Israel or Israel to US twice per year (as applicable based on location) Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Create and lead a world class clinical statistics organization with responsibilities that span drug development team activities from first in human through POC through LOE. * Create a culture within Clinical Statistics consistent with the Mission and Values of Teva * Promote teamwork and positivity in the organization * Demonstrate and promote critical statistical thinking, with a particular focus on delivery to ensure developing and sustaining the value of medicines and healthcare solutions * Promote great science, innovation, efficient design and quantitative decision making in partnership with other lines within specialty clinical development * Promote working with the clinicians, clinical pharmacologists and medical directors as a mechanism to drive quantitative approaches throughout clinical development and commercial support * Encourage business-aligned publication of innovative science and statistical application * Support the creation and maintenance of a network of world-leading external statistical advisors and consultants * In partnership with the clinical LT, seek opportunities to engage with and influence regulators globally * In partnership with the medical affairs LT, seek opportunities to engage with payers and external experts to provide evidence of the safety and efficacy of our products * Promote excellence in the design and analysis of real world evidence studies * Recruit and retain a diverse, highly skilled, motivated workforce across all areas supported; build a culture of engagement where colleagues understand how what they do contributes to the main effort * Create a global culture within the statistics discipline that shares best practices across all therapy and disease areas and phases of development, promotes statistics talent development / management, recommends and articulates appropriate investments in technology to maximize the value to the business * Make credible recommendations to Teva senior management about the Statistics discipline, resource planning, strategic direction, and its leadership talent for talent planning and succession planning. Qualifications Education Required: Postgraduate Statistical qualification (PhD) Experience Required: Minimum of 10+ years related experience in design of clinical trials * Ability to program using SAS, knowledge of R is beneficial * Knowledge of CDISC SDTM and ADaM * Knowledge of complex, innovative study designs. Expertise in Bayesian statistics is beneficial Functional Knowledge: * Demonstrated ability to deliver quality products with efficiency as well as having relevant technical and scientific publications is preferred. * Ability to influence others in the organization and drive organizational change within and outside of Clinical Statistics * Excellent presentation and written communications skills. * Experience leading a team of Statisticians (this group has 25-30 reports) * Ability to communicate with non-statisticians to interpret statistical findings * Good organizational and problem-solving skills. * Demonstrated project and technical leadership qualities, and creative and strategic thinking required.
