GENERAL SUMMARY: Demonstrates excellence in clinical teaching and is an expert in their designated nursing specialty.

Demonstrates implementation of the mission, vision, goals and values of the College as well as the philosophy of the division in which they are assigned. Responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of the clinical components of assigned nursing courses.


PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. *Plans, implements and evaluates clinical activities according to College policies, course credits, course outcomes and available resources; facilitates and provides instruction to students; and assesses student learning in the clinical setting. 3. Applies College values and philosophy in work activities and interactions with others. 4. *Maintains professional and collaborative relationships with colleagues and serves as a competent educator. 5. *Conveys knowledge and principles of the discipline clearly and concisely in the clinical setting. 6. *Utilizes a variety of educational strategies to promote student development of critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making, clinical competency and life-long learning. 7. *Manages the education environment to facilitate an optimal learning experience. 8.

    Maintains confidential environment and respects learner and patient privacy. 9. Maintains currency of practice and incorporates evidence based teaching principles and practices. 10. Adapts teaching to varied delivery methods including distance-learning options if necessary. 11. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.     Clinical knowledge and skill in area of practice for application to clinical settings. 2. Knowledge of application of teaching learning principles, teaching strategies and instructional media. 3. Knowledge of course evaluation. 4.

    Ability to plan and organize. 5. Ability to evaluate student attainment of outcomes. 6. Ability to effectively react and perform work under stressful situations. 7.

    Ability to modify teaching strategies for diverse learners, program levels, and modalities of delivery. 8. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


Nursing Program: Minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing preferred or progress toward Master of Science in Nursing required.

Current unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required. Minimum of three (3) years# experience in field of practice required. Minimum of one (1) year of teaching in higher education academic setting preferred. # OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


(Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.) # (DOT) # Characterized as medium work requiring exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
