Adjunct Lecturer - Art - Mcdaniel College

Job Description:

The Department of Art at McDaniel College seeks to increase its pool of adjunct faculty to teach introductory ART courses in the fall 2024 semester and beyond. Courses may include Graphic Design I, Digital Imaging, Ceramics, Perceptual Drawing, or 2D Design Concepts. Adjunct instructors teach one to two course sections per semester, depending on availability. Our studio classes are taught face-to-face.

Responsibilities:

• Meeting all designated class periods.

• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.

• Designing and delivering classes that work toward achieving the outcomes established for the course.

• Convey course information and communicate with students through the College's online course management system (Blackboard).

• Grading student assignments in a timely manner.

• Submitting mid-term and final grades according to college regulations.

• Attending compensated professional development opportunities.

• Building a positive rapport with students and faculty.

Requirements:

MFA in a relevant discipline in addition to college-level teaching experience.
