Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of the Radiologic Technology Program, the Adjunct Instructor is primarily responsible for the supervision and instruction of Radiologic Technology students in the lab setting for the following positioning course(s):

• Radiographic Procedures (Multiple semesters.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide high quality teaching/instructing to Quincy College students in the Radiologic Technology Program.

• Follow the laboratory schedule as outlined in the didactic course syllabus.

• Participate in the assessment process utilizing tools provided by the didactic course instructor.

• Participate in periodic review and revision of laboratory assignments.

• Prepare and clean-up laboratory before and after each scheduled session.

• Participate in inventory control to determine when supplies are needed.

• Perform skill demonstrations and assess return demonstrations from each student.

• Provide feedback to students immediately following evaluation.

• Maintain current knowledge of professional discipline.

• Maintain appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional development.

• Attend laboratory sessions as scheduled.

• Attend faculty meetings as requested.

• Maintain a laboratory environment that promotes discussion and respects each student.

• Adhere to the policies as set forth in the "Faculty Handbook", including, but not limited to attendance and make-up policy for missed classes.

• Prepare in advance for each class, check adjunct faculty mailbox for important messages before each class, and communicate any changes from the course syllabus to the didactic instructor and students as needed.

• Promptly return all exams and homework giving students feedback on their work

• Turn in all required paperwork in a timely fashion, including, but not limited to contracts, attendance sheets, and grades.

Requirements:

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree preferred. Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology required with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Current registration in radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

• Current Radiologic Technologist License from the MA Department of Public Health Radiation Control Program

• Knowledge of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising

• Teaching experience in the subject area at the college level preferred

• Understanding of and commitment to education and working with a diverse student population

• Experience using technology in the classroom and/or for distance learning, and traditional/nontraditional methods of instruction preferred.
