Job Description:
Quincy College is seeking talented and reliable instructors for various courses taught during the day on the Quincy campus. In your cover letter please be sure to note which course(s) you are interested in teaching. Submit the cover letter along with your resume. We are seeking qualified instructors for the following courses:
Introduction to Radiography
Patient Care (please note this course includes a lab along with the lecture)
Radiographic Procedures I (please note this course includes several lab sections along with the lecture; this course includes positioning of the chest, thorax, abdomen, upper and lower extremities)
Essential Functions
Provide high quality teaching/instructing to Quincy College students
Prepare a syllabus which conforms to Quincy College requirements including objectives, required assigned reading, and assessment methods
Participate in the assessment process as appropriate
Participate in periodic review and revision of course materials
Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline
Maintain appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional development
Attend classes as scheduled
Attend faculty meetings as requested
Maintain a classroom environment that promotes discussion and respects each student
Adhere to the policies as set forth in the "Faculty Handbook", including, but not limited to attendance and make-up policy for missed classes, early dismissal, and final exams
Prepare in advance for each class, check adjunct faculty mailbox for important messages before each class, and communicate any changes in the course syllabus to the class as needed
Promptly return all exams and homework giving students feedback on their work
Turn in all required paperwork in a timely fashion, including, but not limited to contracts, syllabi, class lists, attendance sheets, and final grades
Participate in mandatory training/coursework. Including but not limited to:
Title IX
Non-discrimination
Security Policy and Notification of Security Reporting
FERPA
Bi-Annual Municipal Ethics Law
Canvas, Quality Matters, Canvas Studio
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree
Other Requirements:
Current registration in radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Current Radiologic Technologist License from the MA Department of Public Health Radiation Control Program
Knowledge of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising
Teaching experience in the subject area at the college level preferred
Understanding of and commitment to education and working with a diverse student population
Experience using technology in the classroom and/or for distance learning, and traditional/nontraditional methods of instruction preferred
Online, Hybrid, Remote or blended teaching experience is highly desirable
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of Quincy College's certification program (Canvas, Quality Matters, Canvas Studio) for teaching or, in the sole determination of Quincy College, the equivalent of that program
Possess valid driver's license
Travel: Occasional local travel may be required
