Job Description:
The Criminal Justice Department at SUNY Nassau Community College is seeking resumes for adjunct instructors in the fields of Criminal Justice, Private Security Administration, and Fire Science.
Requirements:
Criminal Justice
Minimal Qualifications:
Master's degree in one of the following academic disciplines:
Criminal Justice; or
Criminology; or
Sociology; or
Public Administration; or
Professional Studies in Criminal Justice; and
All degrees must be from approved and recognized institutions of higher education as verified by accreditations of each institution.
Special Qualifications in addition to the above:
Police Classes: Experience as a sworn police officer
Corrections Classes: Experience as a corrections officer or probation officer or parole officer.
Law Classes: Graduate of an ABA approved law school.
Private Security Administration
Minimal Qualifications
Master's degree in one of the following academic disciplines:
Criminal Justice; or
Criminology; or
Sociology; or
Public Administration; or
Professional Studies in Criminal Justice; and
All degrees must be from approved and recognized institutions of higher education as verified by accreditations of each institution.
Special Qualifications in addition to the above:
PSA 111, 121, 211, 224: Experience as a sworn police officer or within the private security field.
PSA 225 and 231: Paid professional experience in the field of Fire Science.
Fire Science and Emergency Management
Minimal Qualifications
Master's degree in one of the following academic disciplines:
Homeland Security; or
Emergency Management; or
Professional Studies in a closely related field; and
All degrees must be from approved and recognized institutions of higher education as verified by accreditations of each institution; and paid professional experience in the field of Fire Science.
Additional Information:
We are seeking adjuncts with availability to teach face-to-face classes on campus potentially starting Spring 2022 semester. Classes generally meet twice per week during the day schedule.
