The Process Technology (PTAC) adjunct instructor reports to the Business and Technology Department Chair or designee. The PTAC adjunct instructors duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to classroom and lab instruction of safety, quality, equipment, operations, and troubleshooting; provide professional leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum; participate in professional development activities, maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, and work with the various administrative functions of the college.

Teaching assignment may include day and evening classes. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of recent experience in the field or relevant teaching experience. Associate degree in relevant field preferred, but employment and/or teaching experience may possibly be substituted for a portion of the education requirement.

Ability to understand the teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff members in a professional manner. Must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others. Ability to clearly communicate. Must comply with established College rules and procedures.

Regularly required to stand, walk, speak, and see. The employee is occasionally required to sit, lift, push, pull and carry objects up to 50 pounds. The operation of appropriate tools is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Combination of an Associate's degree from accredited college plus a minimum of three years of recent experience in the field.
