Job Description:

The English, Mass Communication and Drama Department at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio seeks part time Journalism instructor and Print/Online Student Newspaper Supervisor beginning August 1, 2018/Fall.

The course(s) to be taught:

• COMM 2330: Newsgathering, (introductory newswriting) TTH 11:00 a.m.

• 12:15 pm

• COMM 3370: Print Editing, TTH 9:30 a.m.

• 10:45 a.m.

• COMM 3371: Media Publication Design TTH 3:15 - 4:30 pm

Co-Curricular Supervisor:

• Print and Online Student Newspaper (Days and Times TBD)

Requirements:

Preferred requirements:

• MA in Journalism, MA in Mass Communication w/Journalism Specialization or Related Field (required)

• Journalism teaching experience

• Print and Online Student Newspaper Supervision Experience

• Newspaper (print and online) Editing and Design Experience

• Print and Online Journalism knowledge and experience

• Newswriting and reporting knowledge and experience

• Print Editing knowledge and experience

• Print and Digital Media Publication Design Experience (i.e. brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, banner ads)

• Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere knowledge, and experience.

• Certified in Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe InDesign
