The Music Department at the University of South Dakota is seeking adjunct music faculty to teach applied lessons on Guitar.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching weekly 30 and 60 minute lessons to major and non-major students commensurate with their degree requirements and skill level. Develop and Manage syllabus and course materials.
Administer evaluations of student performance, including juries and lesson assessment. Enter grades and manage course through the appropriate online management tools. Comply with department, college, and university requirements.
Be prepared for each lesson and meet with students on time and as scheduled for 14 weeks each semester and as needed for recitals and other student performances. Participation in individual student recruitment and departmental recruitment activities is highly encouraged.
Qualifications - Master's Degree or higher in music preferred within the appropriate principal instrument. Others may be considered with appropriate experience.
Previous studio teaching and performance experience is desired. The successful candidate must also pass a criminal background check.

The Department of Music offers Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education, Music Performance, and Musical Arts. Master of Music degrees are offered in Music Education, Music Performance, Music History, Conducting, Collaborative Piano, and the History of Musical Instruments.
