The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Elizabethtown College is seeking an Adjunct in Biology. The candidate will effectively teach the lecture component of BIO111 - Molecules, Cells and Animal Systems in fall of 2024. The class will primarily be comprised of first-year students. Classes begin Monday, August 26th. The lecture section meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30 pm

• 1:20 pm.

Job Duties

• Utilize the provided Bio111 syllabus to ensure consistency across lecture sections.

• Maintain appropriate office hours (on campus and/or virtual) to support students.

• Alert the Department Chair if a student or classroom issue(s) arise.

• Become familiar with Elizabethtown College academic policies and procedures and meet specified deadlines related to attendance, Academic Progress Surveys and grade submission.

• Provide an active learning environment with emphasis on diversity, inclusion and belonging.

Required Qualifications

M.S. in Biology or cognate field.

Ability to offer the course on campus.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated previous teaching success with the same or similar course.
