Job Description:
Nassau Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor position in the Hospitality Business Department. The successful candidate will teach courses in the Culinary Arts, plan and deliver curriculum in classrooms, laboratories and/or practicums ensuring that students acquire essential skill sets and objectives stated in departmental course outlines.
Instruction should be meaningful and assessment-based so students may be observed and evaluated. Monitor the students' progress, keep grade records and must provide relevant assessment data to the department in a timely manner. Use appropriate terminology, and technology to communicate with students and provide academic support.
Comply with College policies and procedures. Maintain a positive and professional learning environment for students.
Requirements:
1.A Culinary Arts Degree; AND one (1) of the following:
AND
2.Three (3) years Full Time, staff supervised, Executive Chef or Sous Chef experience in Chef du Cuisine, Chef de Partie, Pastry or Baking Arts, Butchery, Charcuturie or Garde Manger.
AND
3.Must maintain a current Servsafe Sanitation Certificate or equivalent on file with the College.
