Job Title: Adjunct Faculty in Genetics

Reports To: Chair, Division of Natural Science

Status: Contract, Part-Time

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach sophomore-level genetics course, lecture and laboratory

  • Teach the principles, mechanisms and methodologies of classical and molecular genetics

  • Direct laboratory activities to promote genetics learning

  • Develop a syllabus outlining the topics, activities, and assessments for the course

  • Assess student learning using a variety of assessment strategies

  • Maintain a learning management system site (eClass) for the course

  • Document student attendance and grades

  • Submit mid-term and final grades to the registrar

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in biology or related field

  • Specific experience in the area of genetics

  • Previous teaching experience is preferred

Compensation

  • Lecture: $880 to $1,040 per credit. / Lab: $660-780 per credit
