Adjunct Instructor- Business Law

POSITION SUMMARY:

The University of Saint Mary is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach graduate course related to the legal aspects of business within the Division of Business and Information Technologies. Graduate courses are taught in 8-week on-ground, synchronous and 8-week online, asynchronous formats.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Teach Legal Environment and Commercial Transactions course;

• Prepare syllabi and deliver curriculum appropriate for the course(s) assigned;

• Maintain effective and timely student assessment and feedback;

• Manage and foster an inclusive educational environment to serve all learners;

• Maintain student attendance records in accordance with university policy;

• Maintain office hours for student contact and support;

• Submit attendance and final grades on time;

• Demonstrate professionalism with students, faculty, staff, and administration;

• Complete all required training, including LMS and HR compliance;

• Maintain expertise in current teaching and discipline technologies;

• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Earned Doctorate (PhD, DBA) in Business Administration, or Doctorate (PhD, DBA) in a business-related field from an accredited institution with related legal industry experience OR Juris Doctorate (JD) in combination with appropriate industry experience.

• Previous teaching experience in higher education, preferred.

• Professional written and verbal communication skills.

• Additionally, candidates should have an affinity to the mission of the university.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
