Job Summary:

  • Adjunct clinical instructors needed to supervise graduate Occupational Therapy students during Level II field work placements throughout the week which may include travel to schools and/or off site locations one to three afternoons per week with offering in person and via telehealth.

  • This position may be part time or full time status and is grant funding through Fall 2028.

Key Results/Responsibilities:

  • The candidate(s) we are seeking will support the vision, mission and diversity efforts of the Department of Occupational Therapy, School of Health Professions and The College of St. Scholastica.

  • Faculty will use their personal vehicle for transportation requirements of this position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have initial certification by NBCOT.

  • Must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state/s where providing occupational therapy services in Minnesota and/or Wisconsin.

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of practice experience subsequent to initial certification to supervise Level II fieldwork.

  • Must be adequately prepared to serve as a fieldwork educator; willing to serve as the Fieldwork Educator as well as be a mentor and role model for the student.

  • Must be willing to develop a fieldwork education program in collaboration with Academic Fieldwork Coordinator at the fieldwork site that provides students with the opportunity to achieve entry-level status as an occupational therapist.

  • The supervising therapist may be engaged by the fieldwork site or by the educational program.

  • The Department of Occupational Therapy at The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) believes that becoming a professional occurs when the student is able to develop the skills, clinical reasoning, and critical thinking while working closely with an experienced OTR. This close mentoring and educational relationship helps the student to gain confidence in their skills and judgment. For this reason, CSS Level II Fieldwork students are only placed in settings where the supervising occupational therapist is available for at least 8 hours of supervision per week. In situations when an occupational therapist is not on-site for student supervision, the AFWC/Academic Fieldwork Specialist will work with the FWE to have a plan for appropriate supervision.

  • Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills, multicultural competency and experience interacting effectively with diverse constituents.

Preferred Qualifications:

Interest and experience in mental health, pediatrics and school-based occupational therapy.
