Adjunct Faculty Pool Counseling and Human Development Program

Position type: Adjunct

The Counseling and Human Development (CHD) program at Walsh University is accepting applications for adjunct faculty to teach graduate courses within the CHD program. The program offers specializations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling that are accredited by CACREP at the masters degree. Additionally, the program offers an academic certificate in addictions counseling, endorsed by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.

Position Summary:

Teach core and/or specialty Counseling courses as per contract and attend any required adjunct trainings and meetings. Courses offered by the CHD program are fully online. Therefore, there may be a potential for remote teaching, mainly through ECN (our Learning Management System). Faculty also use Zoom for meetings, specific course requirements (if any, depending on the course), etc.

Required Qualifications and Expectations:

• Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae.

• Applicants must have a minimum of a Masters Degree in Counseling, preferably from a CACREP-accredited institution. Ph.D. in Counselor Education preferred.

• Licensed in respective professional area (LPC or LSC).

• School Counseling and/or LICDC-CS license is strongly preferred.

Work Experience:

• Demonstrated experience as a licensed clinical practitioner in community mental health settings or as a licensed school counselor.

• Prior teaching experience at the graduate level (especially in a CACREP accredited graduate program) is preferred.

• Experience with online teaching and learning is also preferred.
