The School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) is seeking dynamic, learner-focused online Adjunct Instructor Educator(s) who have experience working with or as a paralegal.
Adjunct instructors will work with adult students at Elizabethtown College to provide them with the knowledge, concepts, and skills to be successful in the Paralegal undergraduate certificate and associates accelerated online degree program. This will be a 100% remote position.
Job Duties
Adjunct faculty will have the following job responsibilities:
Teach courses using online, blended and/or and hybrid pedagogy through the Canvas LMS;
Review textbooks and other courseware changes;
Review and improve syllabi;
Create an eLearning environment that fosters a sense of belonging, dignity and, respect;
Use instructional methods that support syllabi expectations;
Complete beginning-of-term preparation and communication;
Facilitate class instruction in accordance with course, program, and student learning objectives; Apply adult learner theory to support students' needs;
Administer evaluations of student performance based on course assessments;
Provide both instructive and supportive feedback;
Adhere to protocol guidelines; submit grades for course completion; .
Complete end-of-term preparation, communication, and course evaluation(s);
Model professionalism and appropriate academic conduct.
Required Qualifications
Interested candidates should possess:
The qualified candidate should hold a degree relate to the legal industry.
Relevant professional experience of 5 years or more.
Expertise and experience working with or as a paralegal.
Ability to support student connections to course content across multiple work contexts due to the interdisciplinary nature of the program.
Strong facilitation skills to focus discussion board posts on course content and deepening students' paralegal competencies by creating experiential learning opportunities and/or creative online learning activities.
Successful candidates will demonstrate teaching excellence, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to collaborative processes. They will have a demonstrated commitment to teaching adult learners and proficiency in teaching online with high-impact strategies.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to interact with others while maintaining a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
