General Description of Work

Whatcom Community College invites applications for part-time, adjunct faculty Engineering Instructor positions for fall quarter 2024 and to expand the pool of instructors for future positions that may occur. Applications will be kept on file through the current academic year.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in engineering or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and/or preparation for teaching Introductory Engineering Design, Introductory MATLAB, Electric Circuits, Numerical Methods with MATLAB, and/or engineering fundamentals courses such as Statics, Dynamics, and Mechanics of Materials.

  • Commitment to excellence and quality in learner-centered instruction.

  • Experience with a learning management system.

  • Actively contributes to a work and learning environment that embraces diversity and uses diverse perspectives to enhance the attainment of the College's mission.

  • A willingness to meet with current engineering faculty to discuss class materials and resources, lab equipment, and/or teaching strategies.

Salary

Salary:

  • $6,577.56 per class.

Benefit Package:

  • Accrues a percentage of 7 hours (equal to the percentage of workload) per month of sick leave (ex. 50% quarterly employment contract x 7 hrs for full-time = 3.5 hrs per month for that quarter.)
