Ivy Tech Sellersburg Campus is looking for an Adjunct Instructor to join their Informatics Program. Informatics Instructors are responsible for teaching students the Business Intelligence uses pulled from the field of Information Technology and will teach classes ranging from introductory IT courses to BI & Reporting, UX and Human-Computer Interaction, and Salesforce Administration.
Description
Adjunct Faculty are hired as needed on a semester by semester basis and are responsible for facilitating student learning by delivering classes in accordance with college policy and and course objectives. Adjuncts are responsible for developing and maintaining course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, course materials, along with maintaining accurate student records, and grades. Adjuncts are expected to engage with students in a meaningful and productive way and create a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College while remaining within the bounds of College Policy and Campus Guidelines and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Education, Experience, and Requirements
A qualified faculty member in Informatics (INFM) meets the program standard through one of five routes:
Possesses an earned master's degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in software development, computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science, or a computer related field as appropriate to the program.
Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in software development, computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science, or a computer related field as appropriate to the program.
Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:
Professional certification (national, regional, or state)
Two years of in-field professional employment
Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award
Documentation of research and publication in the field
Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military.
Possesses an earned bachelor's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in information systems, information technology, or related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in one or more of the following:
Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the information technology field
Two years of professional employment in the information technology field
Documentation of research and publication in the field
Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military.
For INFM 109 - Informatics Fundamentals Only
Possesses an earned out-of-field bachelor's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:
Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the information technology field
Four years of professional employment in the information technology field
Documentation of research and publication in the field
Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEUs, vendor, or military.
