Job Description:

General Statement

Adjunct instructors teach courses within a specific discipline to a diverse student population on our main campus in Worcester and/or at additional satellite locations within our service area. We are especially interested in instructors who are qualified to teach general biology, anatomy & physiology, medical microbiology, chemistry, and physics courses. Courses assigned are primarily day courses, and responsibilities include instructional preparation, assessment of student performance and assistance to students. Adjunct faculty will attend a limited number of faculty meetings.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Biology/Physics/Chemistry or Science Education or related discipline

  • One year of successfully teaching biology, chemistry or physics lecture and laboratory in high school or college.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Documented examples of syllabus / course development and assessment

  • Demonstrated experience using a Learning Management System;

  • Demonstrated experience in using technology in the teaching of biology, chemistry or physics in the classroom, including publisher web-based content;

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other science instructors;

  • Demonstrated experience teaching in a remote videoconferencing modality;

  • Ability to teach day, evening or weekend classes in more than one campus location

Starting rate of pay is $1,291 per credit hour. Positions are MCCC Unit eligible.
