Position Title Adjunct Faculty, Art History Position Number 999972 School/Division Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences-Humanties Department Full-Time or Part-Time Part-Time Description
Hofstra University's Department of Fine Arts, Design, Art History is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach the following two courses in Art History in Fall of 2024:
Women Artists (M,W 11:20 am-12:45 pm). This course focuses on several women artists from the Renaissance through the emergence of feminism in the late 20th century to the present. This course also concerns feminism as a critical approach to art, and the efforts of women artists to gain respect as professionals in Europe and America.
20th Century Painting (M,W 2:40-4:05 pm). This course will discuss revolutionary art movements in Europe and America during the first half of the century, from Abstraction, Cubism, Dada, and Surrealism to the beginning of the Second World War.
Qualifications
PhD or ABD in Art History.
Some college teaching experience is required.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusive in an educational environment.

Salary/Salary Range $1,422-$1,669 per credit

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
