PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This is an academic position in which the faculty member is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, teaching, and evaluating assigned courses, as well as the curriculum within the Arts and Sciences Division. Must possess a strong knowledge base in Physiology and related fields. Responsible for teaching various courses in undergraduate Physiology in classroom, laboratory and on-line. Performs service to the college (such as participation and leadership on committees and college events, etc.) Responsible for being actively involved in professional development and scholarly activities. May assume leadership role for adjunct instruction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assumes responsibility for classroom, laboratory and online instruction of assigned courses.
Participates in peer, self, and course review.
Facilitates a learning and caring environment, which encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction, and respect for the uniqueness of everyone.
Evaluates student progress and maintains appropriate records.
Remains current with trends, issues, and practices in the discipline.
Contributes to the evaluation of student academic achievement and other evaluative processes of the College.
Demonstrates knowledge of and implementation of the general education philosophy
Serves on college committees as appointed or elected.
Actively involved in professional development and scholarly activities.
Upholds and promotes the Mission and Core Values of compassion, excellence, human dignity, justice, sacredness of life and service.
Assumes responsibility for laboratory instruction of assigned courses

Required Minimum Education: Masters- Physiology or related Field of Study- Anatomy; Cell Biology; Biochemistry; genetics; Physiology
Preferred Education: Doctorate- Physiology or related Field of Study
