Job Description:
The English Department and Humanities Division at Bellarmine University seek a part-time instructor to teach an African American Literature course (ENGL 225) for the fall semester (8/22/2024-12/4/2024). Class times are MW 12:00-1:15 PM.
This course can cover any era of African American Literature, providing an introduction to genre, content, and contexts. Students will engage in critical analysis of fiction, poetry, essays, and/or film.
The course may count for the general education course in literature. It also serves as an option for our African and African American Diaspora Studies minor, and English majors may take it as a 300-level course counting toward the major.
Requirements:
Applicants must hold an M.A. or Ph.D. degree in English Literature or a related field. Experience teaching English Literature at the college level is strongly preferred, as is expertise in African American literature.
