Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating and Celebrating.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Plan and carry out instructional duties, which maximize learning by students.
Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course related concerns.
Teach assigned courses in accordance with course descriptions.
Assist with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
Syllabus must be submitted to dean's office prior to or during the first week classes begin.
Furnish each student with a course syllabus, which follows the prescribed format, including evaluation procedures, withdrawal procedures, class attendance, and other policies consistent with college procedures. and office phone and e-mail access.
Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President or Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, LSSC supervisor, unless excused by the administrator in charge.
Teach all classes for the full period as scheduled.
Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on course syllabus.
Utilize evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates.
Resolve discipline problems within sphere of responsibility.
Assist and counsel students as needed.
Utilize material and equipment necessary to accomplish designated tasks.
Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional developments.
Regularly examine content of assigned courses and recommend changes to LSSC supervisor if needed.
Complies with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Works a minimum of 35 hours per week, which includes 15 classroom hours, 10-office or student contact hours, and 10 hours as needed by the instructor.
Assists with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
Furnishes each student with a course syllabus listing performance objective, course expectations, grading procedures, withdrawal procedures, class attendance policies, and office phone and e-mail access.
Functions as a member of faculty committees in developing the instructional program and educational philosophy of the college.
Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President or Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs, Deans, and Department Chairs unless excused by the administrator in charge.
Teaches all classes for the full period as scheduled.

Minimum Qualifications & Education
Required bachelor's degree.
Preferred master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline, or relevant industry experience for alternate credentialing in workforce programs.
Lake-Sumter State College provides limited benefits for part-time employees, not including student employees, who work at least 20 hours per week.
