Job Description Job Description POSITION TITLE Adjunct Computer Science Instructor APPOINTMENT Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon recommendation of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY Instructors may be assigned classes at any of the four River Parishes Community College campuses (Gonzales, Reserve, Plaquemine, and St. Charles locations), as determined by student need and institutional demand.

Full-time faculty are expected to actively serve on campus committees, participate in campus activities, and participate in student advising. Teaching needs will include face-to-face, online, and/or evening classes. Faculty are responsible for timely and accurate submission of required documentation related to human resources and instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS · Master’s degree, with at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in Computer Science from an accredited institution; or a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and five years of professional experience in the computer science field; or an Associate Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with at least five years of professional work experience in the information technology or computer science field and any of the following certifications: CompTIA A, CompTIA Network, CompTIA Security, CompTIA Cloud Essentials, CompTIA Cloud, CompTIA Linux, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or AWS Cloud Architect. · Preferred: o Previous teaching experience o Ability to teach a variety of courses within the department, including but not limited to: Problem Solving & Programming Techniques, IT Hardware Support, IT Software Support, Network Essentials, Introduction to Scripting, Introduction to Virtualization, Microsoft Windows Servers, Relational Database Coding, Introduction to Cloud Computing, Linux Server, Network Security Design, Advanced Topics in Linux, and Microsoft Office Applications course.
